About the Apprenticeship Program
Laborers’ Local #32 is seeking motivated candidates to apply for our apprenticeship program. We provide advanced classroom and on-the-job training (OJT) designed to help our apprentices acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful as a construction craft laborer.

Important steps and details for completing the
apprenticeship application:
Submit your application online on the first Tuesday of the month from March through October between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
You will need to submit a list of items within 10 days of applying to the training school which includes:
1) Birth certificate or documentation showing proof of age.
2) High school diploma/GED certificate or transcripts of grades showing graduation date.
3) Military transfer or discharge – if in the military.
After submitting documents, please call the training school at (217) 773-9083 to verify we received them.
Once the documents are received (must be within 10 days), you will receive a letter in the mail stating when and where your oral interview will be. After your interview you will get placed on a waiting list based on your score.
NOTE: You are welcome to re-apply and re-interview as many times as you would like in order to try and increase your score.
Basic Qualifications:
Applicants must:
1) Apply for the apprenticeship program online.
2) Be 18 years of age at the time of application.
3) Be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate.
4) Be physically able to perform the work of the trade.
5) Have a reading, understanding, writing, and communication ability that would enable the applicant to perform the tasks of the CCL in a safe manner and comprehend the subject matter taught, in English only, in related training.

TOTAL TRAINING HOURS = 480 HOURS
All apprentices are required to obtain 1,000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT), as well as 160 hours of related training each year of the program to wage progress to the next level. When final classroom and OJT requirements are met, and apprentice has in program MINIMUM of three years – they will be advanced to 100% journeyworker status.
